Winter Blues

The weather outside these days does not really make one want to leave the comfort of your home which can then lead to a lot of time looking around at your interior surroundings. Of course there are always items I would like to change, add or completely redo but there is that one important factor called money that reminds me to be happy with what I have! My bedroom is one area I really would love to redo, not that I don’t like the furniture but maybe a new color scheme or something to change it up, so I decided that since money is a little tight the best I could do was new bedding. Let me tell you just be making that change and some new lamps, I feel like I have an entire new room. I decided to do an all white look and it gives the room a crisp and clean feel that I love. The best part is I did not have to spend an arm and a leg on a complete renovation including furniture, paint, etc. I got my comforter and large pillow shams from Anthropologie which was a little pricey but not bad, then paired that with some lamps from the best place on earth Target and I have a entire new room! Last thing I need is a new bed skirt but I have not been able to commit to one yet, I have my eye on a couple though! So if you are feeling the winter blues as well, go out and buy something simple a new pair of towels or rug for the bathroom, maybe a colorful vase for your mantel, just something to give you that feel of change with our completely breaking the bank!

The Bravern

I love me some designer clothes, purses, accessories, etc but in all reality my income does not allow me to wear all designer, hopefully one day, but not currently. With that said shopping at the Bravern can be classified as difficult as it is filled with Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and many more amazing designers that are just not within my price range. Every time I go there I fall more in love, the atmosphere of the outdoor mall, architecture, there is just something about it that I really love but walking around window shopping is not all that fun, until I discovered that I can actually buy some very exciting items for much less then I would spend anywhere else. First of Neiman Marcus is known for its designer goods but what people don’t understand is that they really should be known for their amazing sales which I swear are happening all of the time. I am not talking about 20 – 35% here I am talking about 75% off items. It is heaven, there are racks of beautiful clothing on sale, I found two sweatshirts that were originally $150 for $30! I was like a little kid in a candy store, now some items are still pricey but when you consider some items started off at $700 and are now $300, then it makes sense and you see what a great deal you are getting. I found a pair of Yves Saint Laurent heels that I have been dreaming about and they were almost 75% off, a true dream come true! One other place that I frequent at the Bravern is John Howie Steak, another place many people avoid because it is a pricey steakhou8se which is very true but what they don’t understand is that they have one of the best happy hours in Bellevue. If you like hamburgers then look no further, they have the most amazing blue cheese hamburger with fries for $8, yes that is correct $8! It is fabulous and in fact it is so large you really should share it with someone, Reed and I can split it and be perfectly satisfied. So for people who have been avoiding the Bravern due to the high prices, they are still there but there are also items that are a great deal!

A Little Bit Country

I have to write about her album Revolution because I am truly obsessed, all of the songs are so much fun and I can not get enough! It is very hard because I discovered this album right before the Christmas music came in to play and since it really is only a month that we get to enjoy Christmas music I have turned off Miranda but right when Christmas is over I can guarantee you she will be turned back on. I was watching the CMA’s when I saw how many times she won and I knew the popular songs that she was winning for but when she one album of the year I decided there must be even more songs I was missing, I was right. Some of my favorites are “Me and Your Cigarettes”, “Airstream Song” and “Heart Like Mine” although they really are all amazing!

Glassy Baby

Shopping for gifts can be frustrating enough as it is but when you are stuck on what to get someone that just makes the process even more difficult and really loose the fun. However I have a great suggestion for those women you are just not sure about, mother in law, sister, mother, etc. They are Glassy Baby candle holders and let me tell you they will love them, they come in a variety of different colors and although they look pretty in the store there is nothing compared to what they look like when they have a candle in them. I myself have a red one and it is so pretty, I absolutely love it. They are a little pricy at $40 a piece but so worth it and the best part is a portion of the proceeds goes to charity so really you are making two people happy, the person receiving the gift and the charity!

Bling Bling

While watching my favorite guilty pleasure The Real Housewives New Jersey Reunion show I noticed that Teresa had on these fabulous sparkly bangles, I could not take my eyes off of them. A few days later I was reading gossip sites when I saw Jessica Simpson wearing something very simpler, large sparkly bangles. They were so much fun and really added something extra to the outfit, I truly could not stop looking at them. The problem was I could not find any information about them on the internet and had a feeling they were not cheap. The past couple of months I have continued to see them on many celebrities and still could not find anything, until my little trip to Los Angeles with my mom where I came across something that matched exactly. Now I am not sure if they were wearing the real ones or the ones I got, I mean Teresa probably the ones I got and Jessica the real ones but that is not the point. For $48 I found them in a variety of colors and they even had them in one size up for $58. I love them so much I bout a clear one and a black one, which my mom did also and we have been wearing them all the time. They really do go with everything, although you may think they look to glitzy they really are not and truly add that little flair every outfit needs. A perfect Christmas gift for that one special person you are stuck on
